A recent meeting between Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) on March 3 ended without any resolution, prompting farmers to announce protests in Chandigarh starting March 5. Farmers allege that after a heated argument over their demands, CM Mann abruptly left the meeting, walking out without addressing their concerns.

In Dadar, officials from the Fogat Khap expressed their anger regarding CM Mann's behavior during the meeting with farmer leaders in Chandigarh. They condemned the treatment meted out by the Punjab CM and the police towards the farmers. The Khap leaders advised the Punjab government and police to improve their approach, warning that any similar conduct in the future would lead to large-scale protests.

Suresh Fogat, the head of Fogat Khap, stated that during the Monday meeting in Chandigarh, which was attended by Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, the CM's attitude toward the farmers was highly disrespectful. He left the meeting without listening to the farmers' concerns, dismissing their protests by saying, “Your demonstrations don’t make a difference.” This behavior has sparked outrage among the farmers, and they are now determined to intensify their protests if such treatment continues.
